Matthew Seamus Callinan is the Associate Director of the Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery, VCAM, and Campus Exhibitions for Haverford College. Over the past fourteen years Callinan has coordinated dozens of exhibitions, publications, and programs for the college featuring the work of international artists and curators including the ongoing The Contest of the Fruits project with Berlin-based collective Slavs and Tatars. Collaborating with writer and curator Pete Brook, Callinan assisted in creating the nationally touring exhibition Prison Obscura. Callinan also collaborated with Independent Curators International (ICI) to produce the first edition of the nationally touring exhibition The People’s Biennial. In addition to his work at Haverford College Callinan is the Director of Exhibitions and 2020 Fellowship Coordinator for Monument Lab and has served as a coordinator for other projects including RAIR’s Digging Deeper: field studies made possible by the wastestream, the Hidden City Festival and the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program’s Open Source.
