Monica O. Montgomery, is an arts and culture innovator using creativity and narrative as a means of bridging the gap between people and movements. As an independent curator, educator and diversity consultant she uses her platforms to be in service to society. As a museum activist, Monica advocates globally for social justice and #BlackLIvesMatter. She has curated over 40 pop up exhibits and festivals at the intersection of art, activism, society, with renowned organizations like Brooklyn Museum, Portland Art Museum, Teachers College, The Highline, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, Weeksville Heritage Center and others. Monica delivered a TedX talk entitled 'How To Be an Upstander' challenging everyone to stand up, speak up and act up for social good.

She is cofounder and strategic director of Museum Hue a multicultural platform advancing people of color and diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives in arts, culture, museums and creative economy. Her work with Museum Hue includes managing social media and brand platforms, mentoring and career coaching for emerging and established professionals and executive coaching with arts leaders and DEAI trainings. She has facilitated tours, talks and professional development initiatives with universities and cultural institutions throughout Europe and North America.

Monica has held advisory positions in Monument Lab, Of By For All Change Network, Leading Changemakers,NYC Museum Educators Roundtable, Arts Marketing Association UK, MASS Action, National Trust for Historic Preservation Reimagining Historic Sites PLT Forum. She has completed fellowships with National Arts Strategies Creative Community Fellows, Innovative Cultural Advocacy Fellows, Race Forward’s Racial Equity in the Arts Innovation Lab, Human Impacts Institute Fellowship and Oxford Cultural Leaders at Oxford University UK. 

She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Communication from Temple University and Masters of Arts in Corporate Communication from LaSalle University. She has taught at the graduate level in courses around Museum, Community and Social Change at Harvard University, Pratt Institute, Johns Hopkins University and NYU. She has guest lectured at Princeton University, Columbia University, American University, The New School, University of Pennsylvania, University of the Arts. She has keynoted and presented American Alliance of Museums, with Art Table, NYC Arts in Education Roundtable, Balboa Park Cultural Partnership, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Visitor Experience Conference, Association of Art Museum Curators and dozens more.
