Welcome our new Senior Curator Yolanda Wisher

We are thrilled to announce that Yolanda Wisher will be joining the Monument Lab team as Senior Curator!

Yolanda is a visionary curator, educator, writer, and performer. Her roots with Monument Lab run deep: she was one of the featured speakers in our very first exhibition in 2015; participated in our “Monument to the Philadelphia Poet '' public program during our citywide Philadelphia exhibition in 2017; and was a team co-leader of Re:Generations’s ConsenSIS in 2022. Join us in giving her a huge welcome to our team!

About Yolanda Wisher
Yolanda Wisher was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and raised in North Wales, Pennsylvania. She earned an M.A. in English/Poetry from Temple University and a B.A. in English/Black Studies from Lafayette College, where she received an honorary doctorate in 2021. She was named inaugural Poet Laureate of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in 1999, third Poet Laureate of Philadelphia for 2016 and 2017, and currently serves as chair of the Philadelphia Poet Laureate Governing Committee. She has curated projects and events with The Rosenbach, Asian Arts Initiative, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Free Library of Philadelphia, and U.S. Department of Arts & Culture.
