Designing Dissenting Histories: An exploration of five project approaches for centering subaltern histories through design and urban planning.

In the annual Center for Public Art and Space lecture, Sue Mobley offers a review of recent projects exploring visual and programmatic approaches to repairing silences and erasures in our popular historical narratives. Mobley reflects on her experiences mapping protest and resistance, creating accessible public art as public history, and curating the long Civil Rights Movement for political nuance and human connection.
